(Television & Microwave Corporation RAFA S.A) is a television station that belongs to the Telemicro Media Group. Its first transmission aired in 1986 and since then it has not stopped transmitting a varied program. It is the official channel of transmission and re-transmission of awards such as Grammy, Latin Grammy, Globo de Oro, American Music Awards, Emmy, Premios Juventud, Premios TVyNovelas, Premios Lo Nuestro, Nuestra Belleza Latina, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show y Premios Soberano It is also the Dominican channel that since 2016 broadcasts the games of the MLB.

History

Telemicro Channel 5The TV station begins its broadcasts at the end of 1986 by the VHF 6 frequency under the name of Canal 6 Circuito Independencia, owned by the Dominican entrepreneur Hatuey de Camps, with a few hours of transmission (6:00 PM – Midnight) as a signal of test. Its location was on San Martin Avenue on February 27, in Santo Domingo. Its initial programming were canned programs such as movies, music videos, Disney cartoons and retransmissions of some programs of international TV channels such as Univisión.
